The MII 2000 accepts 110V or 230V at the input automatically and delivers galvanically isolated 230V. It steps up from a 110V supply or runs one-to-one from 230V.

Is the Bronson MII 2000 safe for a grounded audio setup?

Yes, the MII 2000 suits an audio setup.

The output is galvanically isolated and floating; for a defined ground you bond one output pin to PE. This removes ground-loop hum across a live rig such as a Mackie mixer and power amps.

How high is the inrush current of the MII 2000?

The inrush current is limited by the built-in soft-start.

As a result the circuit breaker (7A at 230V, 14A at 110V) does not trip at switch-on, even with the toroidal transformer's surge.

Does the MII 2000 make a clean single phase from a two-wire supply?

Yes, when one output pin is grounded.

Grounding one output pin defines a neutral at the isolated output — turning a split-phase / two-wire supply into a clean line-neutral single phase.

Does the MII 2000 provide balanced 2x110V power?

No, the MII 2000 does not provide balanced 2x110V power.

It converts a split-phase input into a single phase, but not the other way around — the output is an isolated single-phase 230V supply.

Galvanic isolation for the audio rig

The primary and secondary windings are physically separated; the output is its own floating 230V circuit with no conductive link to the supply. In a live rig of mixer and power amps this suppresses the ground-loop hum that forms over shared earth paths — on a single isolated circuit up to 1600W continuous.

110/230V auto-select — with soft-start

The MII 2000 accepts 110V or 230V at the input without a selector switch and always delivers isolated 230V. It doubles 110V and runs 230V one-to-one. A built-in soft-start tames the inrush, so the setup plugs in via IEC/Schuko and the breaker holds at switch-on.
