Does the Bronson MII 1000 have a resettable fuse?

Yes, the MII 1000 has a resettable circuit breaker (4A at 230V, 8A at 110V).

It is not a replaceable fuse — after a trip you simply reset the breaker. The soft-start keeps it from tripping at switch-on.

Do I need to ground the MII 1000 output?

No, the MII 1000 output is galvanically isolated (floating) and does not need to be grounded to operate.

The primary and secondary circuits share no conductive path. If you need a grounded reference — for example in a line-neutral system — you can bond one output pin to earth.

Does the MII 1000 hum under load?

No, the MII 1000's toroidal transformer stays inaudible under load up to 800W.

The toroidal design runs quieter than laminated-core transformers and stays cool at 98% efficiency. That suits recording studios with sensitive gear such as an Apogee Symphony or Ashly mixer.

Galvanic isolation blocks stray currents

The primary and secondary windings are physically separated; the output holds no conductive link to the supply and floats free. No continuous earth path runs between input and output. On boats this blocks the stray currents between a metal hull and shore power that drive corrosion and shock risk. In clinical and dental settings the isolation keeps electrical interference away from sensitive equipment.

Soft-start limits the inrush current

On power-up an integrated soft-start circuit limits the toroidal transformer's inrush current. It tames the surge instead of letting a full spike hit the breaker. The resettable circuit breaker (4A at 230V, 8A at 110V) no longer trips at switch-on. After a trip you reset it rather than replacing a fuse.
