500W max / 400W continuous — sensitive gear

The TT 500 delivers 400W continuous load and up to 500W short-term — enough for hi-fi amplifiers, lab instruments, and sensitive bench tools. An overheat cutoff guards continuous operation.

230V in / 230V out — true galvanic isolation

The isolation transformer converts 230V at a 1:1 ratio and isolates the input and output circuits galvanically. The output floats, with no conductive path to the 230V supply.

IEC input, Schuko-F + terminal output

The TT 500 takes an IEC cable with a Schuko Type F plug on the input. The output provides a Schuko Type F socket and a screw terminal — for plug-in use or fixed connection on 230V supplies.

Do I need to ground the TT 500 output for my hi-fi setup?

No. The TT 500 output is galvanically isolated and floats — it does not need to be grounded to operate.

The electrostatic screen between the windings is bonded to PE and keeps line interference off the signal. If you need a grounded reference, you can bond the secondary neutral to PE — check with us first if unsure.

Is the TT 500 CE certified?

Yes. The TT 500 is CE certified.

The CE mark confirms conformity with the applicable EU directives for electrical safety and EMC (EN 61558-1). The datasheet and safety information are in the documents section of the product page.

Is the TT 500 a true isolation transformer and not an autotransformer?

Yes. The TT 500 is an isolation transformer with galvanically separated windings — not an autotransformer with a shared winding.

In an autotransformer the primary and secondary share a winding and stay electrically connected. In the TT 500 both circuits are separated and the output floats.

Does the TT 500 remove ground-loop hum on hi-fi amplifiers?

Yes. The galvanic isolation breaks the earth path that ground loops form on.

On a vintage hi-fi amplifier the TT 500 isolates the audio circuit from the 230V supply and removes line-borne hum. The toroidal core runs quietly up to the 400W continuous load.

Electrostatic screen bonded to PE

Between the primary and secondary windings sits an electrostatic screen bonded to protective earth (PE). It drains high-frequency line interference to earth before it reaches the output. The output carries a cleaner 230V signal for sensitive audio and measurement gear, with less coupled line noise in the hi-fi listening room and on the test bench.

True galvanic isolation

The primary and secondary windings are physically separated; the output circuit has no conductive connection to the 230V supply and floats free. That prevents earth loops and ground-loop hum, and it lets you work on open, live equipment without a direct line reference.
