The Variac delivers up to 1000 W at 4 A — sized for test and service setups, bench electronics, and single loads in lab and workshop use.

230 V input, 0–300 V stepless output

From a 220–240 V line, the adjustable voltage regulator sets the output steplessly from 0 to 300 V — for running devices below and above nominal and ramping them up under control.

Schuko output and screw terminal (EU/UK)

Input and output are Schuko Type F; the output also offers a screw terminal. For quick device swaps at the bench or fixed wiring; plug type EU or UK.

Can I run 220 V vintage hi-fi on the VC 1000 at 240 V?

Yes. The Variac sets the output voltage steplessly, so equipment specced for 220 V can be brought to its exact rated voltage.

Dial in the target voltage on the digital display and stay within 1000 W / 4 A. For vintage hi-fi from the 1970s and 80s, this adapts operation to today's 240 V line.

Is the VC 1000 an isolation transformer with galvanic isolation?

No. The VC 1000 is a variable autotransformer with no galvanic isolation.

Input and output share a common electrical reference. If you need galvanic isolation — for example, servicing line-referenced equipment — an isolation transformer is the right design.

Does the VC 1000 allow a gentle start by ramping the voltage up?

Yes, manually. If you ramp the voltage from low up to the target value, the connected device starts gently.

The VC 1000 has no automatic soft-start (spec: "Soft Start: No"). The gentle start comes from ramping up by hand on the control knob.

Can the VC 1000 output exactly 100 V for Japanese devices?

Yes. The range starts at 0 V, so you can set exactly 100 V for Japanese 100 V equipment.

Check the value on the digital display and stay within 1000 W / 4 A. The VC 1000 changes voltage only — the line frequency stays at 50 Hz and is not converted.

Digital voltage display, 0–300 V

The VC 1000's backlit digital display shows the set output voltage directly across the full 0 to 300 V range. This lets you set and read the test voltage repeatably without connecting a separate meter — useful for calibration, fault-finding, and repeat test runs.

Toroidal core with copper winding

The VC 1000 runs on a toroidal core with copper winding — a design with tight magnetic coupling and low stray losses. It holds efficiency at ≥ 90 % and keeps loss heat low under load — relevant during longer test cycles at the bench.
