How soft starter reduce starting current
A soft starter temporarily limits the current on electrical equipment with heavy starting power and thus reduces the torsional forces upon startup. Commonly they are used for electrical motors, large isolation transformers or voltage converters, long cable runs, and various industrial equipment.
By gradually scaling the starting inrush current on equipment with heavy loads, an electrical soft starter will reduce mechanical and electrodynamics stress on the internal parts, extending its overall lifespan.
